January 1945; final days of the Second World War. A girl wrapped in a heavy military overcoat than hardly protects her from the cold, flees by Polish and Czech territory, comes to Vienna and from there to Genoa, where some friends help her. Three years later, in 1948, has begun a new life in Buenos Aires. It was not easy, and has to work hard to earn a living, lives in the boardinghouse of Frau Dorsch, but none of the other guests, mostly Romanian and Hungarian immigrants, know how she got out of Europe...
